This sling is made from jet black 100% silk dupioni fabric. It is understated but by no means boring. The material has a lovely sheen that is contrasted by its slightly nubby texture. It is elegant and a lovely deep shade of black. In addition to being beautiful it is practical; silk is versatile and very comfortable, it absorbs moisture, it is cool to wear in the summer yet warm to wear in winter, it retains its shape and is relatively smooth, very lustrous and it is the strongest natural fiber. This sling is designed with comfort and security in mind. The sling is 5 times reinforced for strength. The top pleat is not stitched so it can be opened up and all the pleats on the ring end are fanned to allow for maximum weight distribution.
This sling has been constructed using slate colored SlingRing brand aluminum rings. These rings are made specifically for use in baby carriers and are designed to be lightweight and free of welds. They are strength tested smoothed and made of only the strongest materials. The rings are batch tested to ensure strength and non-toxicity.
The sling is 75" long and 23" wide making it large or small enough for most babywearers. If you would like a wider, longer or shorter sling (perhaps you or your baby are of a larger or smaller build and/or prefer a longer or shorter tail), we will make you one to order. double layer black dupioni ring sling
Black silk ring sling not quite luxe enough for you? For that there is the double layer black dupioni ring sling. This has twice the fabric of the regular black dupioni ring sling for an even more substantial, comfortable and luxurious feel. This sling is also wider (30") and is therefore recommended for larger babies. It will enable them to be carried in the cradle carry position (or sleeping babies) more comfortably and securely. We love this one.
It comes either looking like the single layer sling or in an avante-gardey version with unfinished edges (very chic). Please specify which you'd like at checkout.
This sling, by the way, is our current favorite for the everyday workhorse ring sling.
