The right care is important to ensure that your quilt will be around and beautiful for a long time to come. Before laundering, treat any spots with a mild dish detergent. The quilts should be hand washed and it is best to use gentle detergent or shampoo or dish detergent and cold water to prevent it from discoloring. It is also recommended that you do not excessively agitate or wring out your quilt. When washing a brightly colored quilt for the first time it would be wise to add a half a cup of white vinegar to the wash water to prevent the colors from running. Dry your quilt flat like you would a sweater again, to prevent it from losing its shape. Dry cleaning is another option.
